Name:
Jessica Murphy

Group/Team:
GhostÉire

What sparked your interest in the paranormal?
I have been interested in all things paranormal, & metaphysical since I was a small child! I was raised on shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Being magical has been apart of me and my family’s life for a long time!

What area (ghosts, ufos, aliens, cryptids etc.) of the paranormal is most interesting to you and why?
How to pick! I have a general interest in all things spooky, and have felt that as I mature and grow in this area of my life, my interests do too! Currently I am fascinated with growing abilities regarding mediumship as well as strengthening my clair abilities.

What is your favourite place/location to visit/investigate?
I love historical buildings, such as castles or old homes. There is SO much energy stored in these places from the years and years of habitation.
If I had to pick one place it would be Leap Castle, Co. Offaly.

What does a paranormal investigation look like?
Depending on your point of view it may vary! In an investigation, we each use our own abilities to gather information.
Our team lead, Anthony, starts with preliminary base testing that helps us understand what the climate of each space is like prior to investigation. From then on, when we notice or feel any changes we have something to compare it to. Depending on our “tool” of choose- whether that be physical equipment or ability- our reads on investigation begin with call outs, card readings, pendulum, mirror gazing etc.

What is the strangest experience you’ve had that you can’t explain?
Dejavu! Happens to me all the time? And I’m always kept wondering was it this life that that happened already or a past one!

What tools or equipment do you use on investigations?
I do what’s called a pre-reading prior to starting. I do this as early as 24 hours prior to the investigation. Essentially I sit in meditation and as I hear, or see things, I draw them down to compare to later. At the time of investigation, I primarily use my tarot deck with support of oracle decks. The tarot gives me a very clear picture of events and the oracle helps to further define the “story” or findings throughout the investigation.

Are there malevolent forces at play in the paranormal world?
Hell yeah. I am a light worker, meaning that I keep myself protected from interactions with dark forces. Of course This doesn’t mean that I am unsusceptible to encounters. Where there is darkness, there is light to balance.

Why do you think Ireland has so many locations that investigators can choose from to investigate?
The country is dripping in history. When events happen in the world, energy used at the time can trap itself within the area, making opportunities endless!

What advice would you give to someone with an interest in the paranormal that wants to get involved?
Be open to anything. Sometimes that means listening to a lot of crickets before anything comes “up”. But when those moments happen they are thrilling. Definitely worth trying!

If you had conclusive evidence to prove the paranormal world existed would you continue to investigate or is that enough of an answer for you as an investigator?
I would definitely continue! With definitive communication, we can help share some untold stories!

What’s the most heart racing experience you’ve had that turned out to not be paranormal related?
There are a few windows within my home and I once thought my son was an apparition. Trick of the eyes!

Anything else you'd like to add that we haven’t asked?
I just want people to know that now is the time to be curious! The world is waking up to spiritual and supernatural possibilities, and everyone has a gift to unlock. I hope that your readers find the courage to put them selves out there to discover their own amazing gifts.
Also, if anyone is wanting to start this journey but isn’t sure WHERE to start ; my sister Brittany and I have a podcast, “Basic Banter For Witches” where we explore all things supernatural- starting with the basics!
