Family Picnic With Bigfoot In Northern California Forest

Northern California – A family picnic took an unexpected turn when a young girl reportedly had a friendly encounter with what appeared to be Bigfoot in a northern California forest. The incident occurred on the 2nd of August 2022 and was later shared anonymously on a cryptozoology forum by the girl's father, Mark.
Mark, who lives with his wife Jenny and daughter Lily in a quiet mountain town, described the day starting normally with a visit to the farmers' market to gather ingredients for their picnic. They then headed to their favourite spot in the forest, walking down their usual path and settling among the wildflowers.
Lily wandered off to explore nearby while her parents prepared lunch. Mark recounted, "I told her not to go too far, and she replied, 'I won't, Daddy'". About 15 minutes later, a "blood-curdling scream" from the forest interrupted their preparations.
Rushing towards the sound, Mark and Jenny found Lily sitting contentedly by a tree log, with an enormous, hairy creature next to her. "She seemed completely relaxed and content, but next to her was an enormous hairy creature that was easily seven or eight feet tall even while crouching", Mark reported.
The creature had a "stocky build and was covered in brown hair", and through the "long tangled hair covering its face, two dark intelligent eyes peered out". Mark was instinctively terrified but remained still, fearing any sudden movement might provoke the creature.
Jenny, equally frightened, called out to Lily. Mark described how Lily remained unalarmed, mimicking the creature's slow, smooth movements. "It’s almost like the pair were playing a game of copycat, both tilting their heads and 'scratching their cheeks in turn", he said.
The scene grew more surreal as the creature made "low rumbling grunts as if laughing while it copied Lily's clapping and foot stomping". Eventually, Lily noticed her mother's cries, stood up, waved goodbye to her playmate, and skipped back to the picnic blanket. The creature then retreated into the forest after a final gaze at the family.
On the way home, Lily recounted her experience, saying she had been picking up pinecones when she heard a snuffling noise and turned to see what she thought was a "great big puppy" watching her from the bushes. She felt the creature was "nice", and they began to copy each other's actions. Lily expressed a wish to have stroked its hair before her parents called her back.
Mark and Jenny, uncertain about disturbing the creature’s existence, chose not to contact wildlife authorities. Instead, they posted their story anonymously online. Despite several subsequent trips to the same forest, they never saw the creature again but often reflect on that extraordinary afternoon.
