Newborn Baby 'Comes Back To Life' As Holy Water Is Sprinkled Over Her Body
Bizarre/Strange
Thursday 18th, April 2024
In Ciudad del Este Regional Hospital in Paraguay, a newborn baby girl, initially declared dead by doctors, displayed signs of life just moments before her funeral rites were to commence.
The extraordinary incident unfolded last Friday (12th of April 2024) when a 32 week pregnant woman was admitted to the hospital due to breathing difficulties. Concerned about the baby’s well being amid oxygen deprivation, doctors performed an urgent cesarean section to give the premature child a fighting chance.
Despite successful delivery, medical personnel were unable to detect any signs of life from the newborn, including breathing, movement, or pulse. After efforts to revive her proved futile, she was pronounced dead, and her body was handed over to her father, Ignacio Medina Vega, for burial preparations.
As the family prepared for the funeral, with a small white coffin purchased and the baby placed inside for at least four hours, a remarkable discovery halted the proceedings. Upon the arrival of the priest to administer last rites, the priest proceeded to sprinkle holy water over the body, an uncle approached the coffin and observed the seemingly lifeless baby’s head move. Further inspection revealed faint signs of breathing and a heartbeat.
The astonishing turn of events led to the immediate return of the baby to the hospital for further evaluation. Weighing only 600 grams, she was placed in an incubator in the intensive care unit, where she continues to defy the odds.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, the father, Ignacio Medina Vega, expressed his terror at the realisation that they could have buried her alive. In tribute to the miraculous events surrounding her birth, the parents intend to name her Milagros de Jesus, meaning “Miracle of Jesus.”
Doctors have given a "cautious prognosis" and are cautiously optimistic about her condition but are still investigating the circumstances surrounding her initial declaration of death. Hospital spokesman Federico Schrodel noted that catalepsy, a condition characterized by a lack of response to external stimuli, loss of consciousness, and immobility of the body, was not ruled out as a possible explanation.
"Due to prematurity, what could have happened to her is that she was left with practically no signs of life," Schrodel added.
The story of Milagros de Jesus serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility and resilience of life, sparking hope and wonder amidst uncertainty. As medical professionals continue to monitor her progress, her remarkable journey offers inspiration to many around the world.
