Jenny and Louise from Emerald Isle Paranormal Researchers take a stroll around the grounds of St. Michan's church in Dublin.
St. Michan's church was established around 1095 as a place to serve the recently defeated Viking invaders.
St. Michan's was destroyed but was rebuilt in the 17th century and is believed to be the location where Handel first played The Messiah.
St. Michan's is known for the well preserved corpses in the church's crypt which were never prepared to be mummified, this can be attributed to a few different possible causes depending on who your ask. Some of the suspect causes of the preservation are:
One of the main attraction points of the crypt's are the 'big four' are "the unknown", "the thief", "the nun" and the "the crusader" of which some are nearly 1,000 years old.
One such figure, referred to as "The Thief," draws attention due to missing parts of his feet and hands, suggesting a past of potential punishment. Speculation arises that this figure may have transformed into a priest, explaining his burial within a church.
Another puzzling character, known simply as 'The nun,' remains shrouded in uncertainty regarding her true identity and religious affiliations.
Meanwhile, the formidable stature of 'The crusader,' standing at an impressive six and a half feet, marks a giant for his time, believed to be around 800 years old. Linked to the Crusades, it is thought that he may have perished in the conflict or shortly after returning to Dublin. The unsettling detail of his legs being broken and folded under him sparks curiosity about the burial rituals practiced in this ancient era.
If you're looking for an alternative day out and enjoy Irish history, St. Michan's church is a good spot to visit, make sure to book as only pre-booked and scheduled tours are allowed.

St. Michan's is known for the well preserved corpses in the church's crypt which were never prepared to be mummified, this can be attributed to a few different possible causes depending on who your ask. Some of the suspect causes of the preservation are:
- The stable, cool temperature supplied by the close proximity to the river liffey
- The limestone walls that keep the atmosphere in the catacombs very dry
- The church was built on swampland and that the methane acts as a preservative
