You Can't Trust Phone ITC Apps, Why ITC Phone Apps Could Be Misleading

Paranormal investigators the world over have used or regularly use ITC mobile phone based apps, but the reality of these apps is that the words they produce can't be trusted.

ITC or Instrumental Transcommunication is defined as communication with deceased person or person through an instrument such as a radio.

The issue we have when it comes to these ITC apps when they are run on mobile phones, well actually, not just mobile phones, any devices based on operating systems like Apple's iOS or Google's Android systems. These systems tend to have similar functionality where the device will be listening for 'wake words' and building up meta data of the current environment around the device and what is being said.

Check out the article at the end of this article which goes into more detail as to how mobile phones or other devices build up meta data about their users, 'Am I Being Listened To...? Mystery Of Mobile Phones, Social Media And Suggested Content'.

So the problem is that once the device has built up some meta data and you install an ITC app on the device, the ITC app can have access to this meta data and in theory can spit out words that you already said a few minutes ago or even earlier in the day.

Lets paint a picture of a common scenario on most paranormal investigations, out comes the mobile phone or device that has an ITC app installed, a person calls out and asks 'is there anybody there', a few seconds later the ITC app pops up with the word 'person' or 'body', then the the investigators calls out, 'did you die here', a few minutes or even longer the ITC app might show the words 'death' or 'grave' or even 'coffin'.

The reason the mix of words above could be seen is because the meta data being collected by the phone about 'body' or 'die' can easily lead to the suggestion of 'grave' or 'coffin'.

This is a very simple example but the principle is exactly the same as how advertisements are suggested to your social media accounts or websites you visit on your mobile device.

With that we would like to make it clear this only applies to apps installed on mobile devices and not a standalone device that scans radio frequencies or a stand alone device that works off a word bank and calls out words.

Another aspect of these ITC apps is that unless you created the app or are able to look at the code (some of which we are currently looking at and will have a review in a future article), the user has no idea what is going on under the hood of the app, the user of the app is trusting the creator to be honest and not trying to con the users into a false sense of trust.

We hope you like this further snippet of insight into some of the modern day tools used by paranormal investigators and we aren't saying don't use certain apps or tools, but we are saying, know and understand what you are using!
