Wuhan Lab Leaks Likely Gain-Of-Function Research, Possible Bio-Weapon Research Link

Note: It has not been confirmed either way yet, but the more documents released by relevant agencies further increase the likely-hood that gain-of-function research was and continues to be funded by US agencies around the world, this suggestion is further backed up by official documents released under the FOIA.

John Kirby in March 9th, 2022 said that Russian accusations of biolabs were "absurd and laughable", "classic Russian propaganda". As part of Kirby's speech he goes on to say that the united states are not developing biological or chemical weapons in Ukraine.

Its since come out that Ukraine has biological research facilities which is suspected that Russian troops were trying to gain control of, according to US Under Secretary Victoria Nuland.

Victoria Nuland further stated that the US was working with Ukraine to stop the biological research material from getting into the hands of Russian troops.

Now lets take a step back for a minute, if the biological research was for a cure for a disease or something to help people get better, then what is the worry about stopping the research getting into the hands of Russian troops?!

Then the US intelligence agencies came out and said that the origins of covid-19 remain unclear but that the virus was not developed as a biological weapon.

So onto the latest information released, shows that the DEFUSE grant proposal was led by EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak, details below are from a cache of documents obtained from the U.S. Right To Know website and an article written by the website, with the article linked at the end of this page.

Last year [multiple U.S. government officials stated] that sources in the US government were "100%" confident that covid-19's patient zero worked at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and conducted risky gain-of-function experiments there.

This lab received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) through EcoHealth Alliance, a US-based nonprofit.

In 2018, EcoHealth Alliance applied for a grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) for a project called "DEFUSE" that would involve Shi Zhengli's lab group at WIV and Ralph Baric's lab at the University of North Carolina (UNC).

US Right to Know has obtained a full cache of notes and drafts from the DEFUSE grant proposal through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

These documents reveal that the features of SARS-CoV-2 closely resemble the work described in the EcoHealth Alliance's proposal. SARS-CoV-2 furin cleavage site primed the virus for easy transmissibility among humans and is absent from the closest known relatives of SARS-CoV-2.

So...

Why were Baric and Shi conducting risky experiments to engineer virus features that could infect humans? What was the purpose of this research? And why would federal government agencies potentially want to fund it?

Now in October 2000 the Project for a New American Century which is am influential foreign policy think tank released it's "Rebuilding America's Defenses" policy document which had some interesting bits in it, like,

combat will likely take place in new dimensions: In Space, cyber-space and perhaps the world of microbes...

advanced forms of biological warfare that can 'target' specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool.

And them we find out,

The Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) prohibits the development of bioweapons but contains a loophole allowing pathogens to be developed and stored if they have a "justification for prophylactic, protective or other peaceful purposes."

We also find out further interesting details, for example the program manager for DARPA was in Wuhan at the start of the Covid-19 outbreak, maybe just coincidence...?

Skipping ahead in the documents we get to a possible military link to Covid-19,

The National Security Council worked to craft Covid-19 policies and Department of Defense officials were heavily involved in vaccine development and distribution. Out of 90 Operation Warp Speed leaders, 60 were military officials.

Despite the controversy surrounding Covid's origin, the Department of Defense awarded a new $3 million grant to EcoHealth Alliance in December 2022.

Gain-a-function research is largely continuing apace. Across the US, there are privately-operated "invisible" biolabs that slip through the cracks in federal regulation.
