To explore the mysteries of paranormal phenomena, the Center for Inquiry Investigations Group (CFIIG), headquartered in Los Angeles, has introduced a $500,000 cash reward for individuals who can substantiate any paranormal, supernatural, or occult abilities within controlled scientific test conditions.
Inspired by similar initiatives, including the James Randi Educational Foundation's renowned $1 million challenge to validate psychic capabilities, the CFIIG aims to uphold scientific rigor in scrutinising extraordinary claims.
Prospective participants are encouraged to collaborate with the CFIIG in crafting test protocols and outlining specific conditions for their demonstrations. The process typically commences with an informal exhibition of the alleged ability or phenomenon. If successful, this preliminary demonstration is followed by a formal test, meticulously overseen by CFIIG representatives.
Tests and demonstrations are conducted primarily at CFI West in Los Angeles, California, and in the San Francisco Bay area. Additionally, special circumstances may allow for testing at affiliated locations worldwide.
The CFIIG places a strong emphasis on transparency and cooperative efforts, striving to ensure a fair and impartial evaluation of purported paranormal abilities. By involving applicants in the protocol design phase, the group aims to maintain objectivity throughout the assessment process.
Interested parties can access comprehensive information about the challenge and learn how to participate on the CFIIG's official website, CFIIG.org. This initiative underscores the organisation's commitment to fostering a scientific approach to paranormal investigations, inviting individuals to step forward and subject their extraordinary claims to rigorous testing.

If your claim is telepathy, please take a moment to watch the short video above. It may save you some time and expense, and help you decide whether to apply for our Paranormal Challenge.
If your telepathic claim involves hearing voices that those around you don’t hear, reading other people’s thoughts, or believing others can hear your thoughts, please consider the following:
What you are experiencing is consistent with recognized illnesses of the mind that are known to cause symptoms like what you are experiencing. Conditions like schizophrenia and other disorders are not paranormal ability, they are chemical imbalances in the brain, and there may be treatment available to help you.
CFFIG does not diagnose applicants, but we do recognize the existence of these disorders and many of their symptoms. We strongly advise you eliminate the medical explanation of your “powers” before you come to CFIIG for a test.
If you insist on being tested despite the real possibility that there is a reasonable medical explanation for what you experience, we will still test you. However:
- You must find your own partner whose thoughts you can hear (or who can hear your thoughts)
- CFIIG representatives and staff will not participate in the test with you.
