Terrifying message in this evening from a follower in County Offaly....
"Lightning came so bad in crinkle /birr co. Offaly today my mam had an incident where lightning struck the outside tap and traveled in to the sink and she was making a cup of coffee and it struck her.
Just a heads up for any one on the page to create awareness my mam is currently in hospital shes always on this page.
Very serious only i came home i travelled from westmeath ( rochfortbridge) down with my husband.. Luckily shes alive to tell the tale but now in hospital as her heart could stop so just being very careful.
Lightning a very powerful thing, it burnt through her shoes conducting out and it's very hard to believe it came through the kitchen sink and unfortunately burnt her nerves internally.
I am absolutely shocked myself, safe to say the doctors surgery in birr were brilliant taken her in and seeing her swiftly it was their first case in the surgery of being hit by lightning
It came through the kitchen sink and connected via her coffee mug and spoon and went through her, shes very lucky to be alive.
Lightning in Birr today was crazy and the thunder was like explosions.
Also luckily for my mam her runners saved her big time with the rubber soles."
Wishing Caroline Blake (an avid follower) a very speedy recovery!!
