On the 9th of November 2018 there were multiple unidentified flying object sightings of what is suspected to be the same object to Shannon Air Traffic Control (ATC) in Ireland.
In the audio recording a British Airways pilot on route from Heathrow from Montreal who was over county Kerry, Ireland at approximately 6.47am on the 9th of November reported to Shannon air traffic control the an object came up alongside the plane before vanishing at "a very high speed".
A Shannon air traffic controller is heard replying with, "alongside you?" the British Airways pilot is then heard stating, "its came up on our left-hand-side and then rapidly veered to the north", continuing on the pilot said "a bright light and then it disappeared at a very high-speed". The pilot went on to state that they didn’t think the object was on a collision course.
Following this controllers on the ground responded with "nothing showing on either primary or secondary" which are the radars they use to monitor the skies. There were two other planes that can be heard on the audio recording reporting the incident.
One other aircraft which was a Virgin Airlines aircraft was heard suggestions that the object could be an object re-entering the atmosphere after stating, "multiple objects following the same sort of trajectory... very bright from where we are." Another pilot is heard saying that it was "astronomical, it was like Mach 2".
The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) stated, "Following reports from a small number of aircraft on Friday 9th November of unusual air activity the IAA has filed a report.", "This report will be investigated under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process."
