HSE Issue Meningitis Advice After Two Deaths

The HSE has issued meningitis advice following two deaths in Ireland.
The HSE has confirmed that it is investigating four cases of meningococcal meningitis/septicaemia reported in the last week of September.
There are currently 3 confirmed cases and one probable case being investigated, out of the three confirmed cases two have died.
The cases were reported from different areas around the country and there are currently no known links with each other, three of the cases are young adults and one is less than 10 years old.
Close contacts are being identified and followed up.
