16 Additional Monkeypox Cases in Ireland - Latest Update from Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) - 7th September 2022

There have been 16 additional confirmed cases of monkeypox in Ireland the HPSC has said in their latest update on the spread of monkeypox since the last update on the 31st August 2022.
These 16 additional confirmed cases beings the total of confirmed monkeypox cases from 144 on the 31st of August 2022 to 160 on the 7th of September 2022.
Again the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) has stated that the cases are not unexpected following the presence of monkeypox cases in the UK and many European countries.
The Public Health teams are following up each case and contacting close contacts of confirmed cases where required.
