NASA reported on the 24th of June that a "mystery rocket body" crashed into the Moon and left a "double crater", this has left NASA scientists scratching their heads as it couldn't have been an average rocket to cause the crater that has been seen.
None of Earth's space capable nations have taken credit or even the blame for the crash.
The rocket hit the Moon on March the 4th, reportedly it was a very interesting impact. The rocket was spotted on a collision course with the Moon in 2021.
NASA have said of the impact, "Surprisingly the crater is actually two craters, an eastern crater (18-meter diameter, about 19.5 yards) superimposed on a western crater (16-meter diameter, about 17.5 yards),".
"The double crater was unexpected. ... No other rocket body impacts on the Moon created double craters."
"Since the origin of the rocket body remains uncertain, the double nature of the crater may indicate its identity," NASA says.
