In a recent article published in Big Think, Ethan Siegel who has a PhD in astrophysics described a UFO sighting he had in December 2006 in New Mexico.
On the night in December 2006, Ethan and a friend were returning from a visit to Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico, while driving through a remote part of desert at dusk, Ethan noticed a, "glowing, blue, ellipse-shaped light" which was initially stationary in the sky but then started to move slowly.
Ethan wrote, "As it got closer, it brightened but never appeared to be anything other than a solid blue disk, and it seemed to pick up speed at an alarming rate".
Followed by, "It then sped off to the right, faster and farther away from us, and after about two or three seconds of moving at what was its top speed, the light simply went out".
Ethan went on to discuss what it was he might have seen, coming up with a few possibilities, including the possibiliy of extra terrestrial in origin.
Ethan finished up with, "When you can't explain what you yourself have seen, it's easy to let your imagination run wild".
There is every chance what Ethan and his friend witnessed has an earthly origin but it's interesting when a person in such a field as Ethan comes forward and suggests there is a possibility, no matter how small that it could have been extra terrestrial in origin.
