Las Vegas - Victoria Goodwin, the estranged wife of Ghost Adventures host Aaron Goodwin, appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom on Tuesday, 25th of March 2025, as legal proceedings continue over an alleged murder for hire plot against her husband.

Goodwin, 32, was charged with soliciting to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Her defence lawyer, David Brown, opted to waive the preliminary hearing, and a status check has been scheduled for the 8th of April 2025, according to reports.

Victoria was arrested on the 6th of March 2025 after authorities uncovered alleged plans to have her husband, Aaron Goodwin, 48, killed. The scheme reportedly involved convicted murderer Grant Amato, 35, with whom Victoria had begun a relationship in early 2024. The pair allegedly discussed payments in exchange for carrying out the act, as detailed in police records from Clark County, Nevada.

Relationship With a Convicted Murderer

Grant Amato is currently serving three life sentences without the possibility of parole for the 2019 murders of his father Chad, mother Margaret, and brother Cody. His crimes followed a history of financial fraud, where he was accused of stealing nearly €185,000 ($200,000) from his family to fund interactions with a webcam model named Silvie, whom he had met through an adult website.

Victoria reportedly became enamoured with Amato after watching him in the Paramount+ true crime docuseries Ctrl + Alt + Desire. Their alleged plot came to light when prison officers in Florida confiscated Amato’s phone and turned it over to the Florida Department of Corrections. Authorities found messages between Victoria and Amato in which they professed their love for each other and discussed the murder plan.

In one message, Victoria allegedly said that her husband, referred to as 'FH' (Future Husband), “would not accept divorce”. When she asked Amato if she was a “bad person”, he questioned why she felt that way. She reportedly replied, “Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce”.

Divorce Proceedings and Legal Action

Upon learning of the allegations, Aaron Goodwin immediately filed for divorce. In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Aaron stated that “the views, tastes, likes and dislikes” between him and Victoria had become “incompatible to the extent that it has become impossible for them to live together as husband and wife in marital harmony”.

The divorce complaint further stated,
“There is no possibility of reconciliation between husband and wife,”

The couple, who married in August 2022, had their relationship unravel in the wake of these accusations. In addition to divorce proceedings, Aaron has filed a lawsuit against Victoria, citing claims of assault, false imprisonment, and negligence. Reports indicate he is seeking over €9,250 in damages for emotional distress.

Public Response

The Ghost Adventures star has since spoken out about the ordeal, thanking his supporters for their encouragement during this difficult time. In a social media post on Saturday, the 22nd of March 2025, he wrote, “Thank you everyone for all the love and support through this emotionally trying time. It has really helped a lot and I appreciate you all”.

Victoria Goodwin remains in custody with bail set at €92,500 as legal proceedings continue. Further developments in the case are expected at her next court appearance on the 8th of April 2025.
