A bidding war has erupted in Hollywood over a highly sought-after film package that promises to blend investigative journalism with extraterrestrial intrigue. The project, helmed by director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, has attracted interest from major studios, including Amazon, Apple, Lionsgate, Paramount, and Warner Bros.

According to sources, the bidding is escalating "quickly and aggressively", though specific financial details remain undisclosed. The film, which has been likened to All the President’s Men with UFOs, remains largely shrouded in mystery. The budget has not been publicly confirmed, but reports indicate that the project is seeking a formal green light. No actors have yet been attached.

Adding to the project's intrigue is the involvement of former United States Air Force officer and whistleblower David Grusch, who is consulting on the film. Grusch gained international attention in 2023 when he testified before Congress, alleging that the US government has been studying extraterrestrial spacecraft and biological remains while actively suppressing leaks.

The pairing of Kosinski and Bruckheimer has already proved to be a winning formula. Their 2022 sequel to the 1986 classic Top Gun soared at the box office, earning more than €1.3 billion worldwide and securing six Academy Award nominations, ultimately winning for Best Sound. The film was instrumental in reviving the cinema industry following the COVID-19 pandemic, while also boosting the careers of co-stars Glen Powell, Miles Teller, and current Oscar nominee Monica Barbaro.

Kosinski's next film, F1, is another highly anticipated release. Starring Brad Pitt, the racing drama is being produced by Apple and Warner Bros. and is scheduled to hit theatres in June. Kosinski’s previous directorial credits include Netflix’s 2022 psychological thriller Spiderhead, the firefighter drama Only the Brave (2017), the sci-fi epic Oblivion (2013), and Tron: Legacy (2010).

With such an accomplished director and producer attached, it is no surprise that multiple studios are aggressively vying for the rights. Given the continued public interest in UFOs and government secrecy, the film is likely to resonate with audiences worldwide. The combination of political intrigue, investigative storytelling, and extraterrestrial themes positions it as a potentially major box office draw.

While further details, including the script’s budget and production timeline, remain uncertain, the industry is watching closely as the bidding war unfolds. If history is any indication, the Kosinski-Bruckheimer partnership could once again deliver a cinematic success that captivates audiences across the globe.
