Unidentified Flying Object Spotted Over the Bahamas

On the night of the 23rd of December 2024, a private jet crew flying high above the Bahamas encountered a glowing, spherical object that seemed to defy conventional explanation. The Surjet aircraft, en route to Fort Lauderdale with no passengers aboard, was flying at an altitude of 13 to 14 kilometres when Miami air traffic control notified them of an unidentified object in their vicinity.
“All of a sudden I heard traffic control say, we have a foreign object, can you please identify”, said Cassandra Martin, a flight attendant for the private air service.
Martin and the two pilots onboard observed the phenomenon, which was described as a glowing, spherical object. “I looked to the left, and the pilot saw three objects; I only saw one. I grabbed my phone, pressed it to the window, and tried to get a video. I don’t know what it was. I zoomed in as much as the phone allowed me to”, Martin explained.
The video captured a white object that transitioned to green, surrounded by what appeared to be an electric field. “It stayed with us for about 45 minutes, and then we didn’t see it again. We were at about 13 to 14 kilometres, and it was way above us”, Martin added.
This altitude is far too high for typical drones, and the object’s erratic, darting movements made it unlikely to be a weather balloon. The sighting left the crew both intrigued and unsettled. “Was it a little bit eerie? Yes, because again, we were pretty high up, and whatever we saw was even higher than us. It had the capabilities to zigzag and change colour, so that was a little daunting, to say the least, but it’s also something fascinating that I was able to see and capture with my phone,” Martin said.
Bryan Bender, a defence expert and former Pentagon correspondent for The Boston Globe and Politico, reviewed the video and noted its similarity to other UAP incidents reported by military pilots. “Well, you know, I think the video is compelling”, Bender remarked. “This testimony rhymes a lot with cases we’ve heard from military pilots going back 10 or 15 years. These orbs, or in some cases, they called them ‘Tic Tacs’, fly at very high altitudes but also manoeuvre in ways that don’t seem to make sense to us, at least as we understand physics”.
“The question is, are these foreign adversaries that have made some breakthrough, or is it something else? And of course, that something else could be many things”, Bender noted.
The glowing object’s ability to zigzag and change altitude left a strong impression on the crew. Martin summed up the experience by saying, “I think we were astonished, and it was something that you really can’t explain, but I don’t have the qualifications to know what that is”.
As sightings of unidentified objects continue to be reported, people of many different walks are calling for further investigation into the phenomenon, with this increasing call a balanced approach must be used to ensure both public safety and scientific understanding.
