Highlights That Sent Chills Down Our Spines

1. Meet the Witnesses: How does it feel to be haunted?
The convention kicked off with a cornerstone of UncannyCon, an exciting live session with classic Uncanny witnesses - Heather from the TV case The Oxford Exorcism, Vee from The Ghost Horses of Averham from Danny's book Into the Uncanny, Amanda from podcast case Elton's Phone and Helen from 2024 Halloween Special Meadow Cottage.

Borley Rectory: Britain’s Greatest Haunting or Hoax?
Here we explored a classic paranormal cold case; the famous haunting of Borley Rectory. Comedian and paranormal enthusiast Jon Culshaw hosted a Q&A with the author of ‘The Haunting of Borley Rectory’ Sean O'Connor, plus Uncanny sceptics Ciaran O'Keeffe and Deborah Hyde to try and find the truth behind "Britain's Most Haunted House".

Ask the Experts
A staple of UncannyCon was the chance to engage directly with experts from some of Uncanny's most compelling episodes. From paranormal researchers, believers to sceptics, attendees were treated to fascinating discussions and personal anecdotes on everything from poltergeists to UFOs and Bigfoot. Danny hosted this panel discussion featuring sceptics Chris French and Ciaran O'Keeffe, cryptozoologist Richard Freeman, folklorist Deborah Hyde, and parapsychologist Evelyn Hollow. This discussion turned quite spicy when the Hairy Man was mentioned!

The Uncannyversity Challenge Quiz
Next up was the ultimate test of paranormal prowess: the Uncannyversity Challenge Quiz. Teams of experts and witnesses went head-to-head, testing their knowledge of the podcast’s most perplexing mysteries and ghostly encounters. Team Believer was captained by Evelyn Hollow while Team Sceptic was captained by Ciaran O'Keeffe. The questions were expertly written by a member of the Uncanny Community and kept participants on their toes. Laughter, cheers, and a healthy dose of friendly competition added a strong sense of fun to an unforgettable weekend. In this case, Team Believer won this battle of paranormal wits.

Meet the Witnesses: The Return to Luibeilt
At UncannyCon 2023, Danny accepted the challenge to visit haunted Luibeilt with Phil from ‘Don't Sleep In This House’ and ‘The Curse of Luibeilt’. Here we saw that Danny made good on his promise, as we were shown a teaser of Danny and Phil’s hike up to the foreboding ruin of Luibeilt. Danny and Phil then discussed their return to Luibeilt together where they uncovered some new major developments in this terrifying case.

Signing sessions
The signing and selfie sessions created some of the most heartwarming moments of the convention, with fans swapping their own paranormal stories with their favourite experts and witnesses and having the chance to get books and other merch signed in person.

Christmas Special Live Podcast Recording
The most highly anticipated moment of the convention was the live recording of one of the upcoming Uncanny Christmas Specials featuring the incomparable Reece Shearsmith and Evelyn Hollow. The energy in the room here was buzzing as fans found themselves part of the podcast they adore, experiencing the eerie stories unfold in real-time.
