Manchester Airport UFO Sighting Claims - June 2024
Alien Life & UFO/UAPs
Sunday 8th, December 2024
Manchester Airport has dismissed recent claims of a UFO sighting in its airspace after images and videos of a spherical object sparked a wave of speculation on social media. The object, reportedly seen floating above the airport and allegedly touching down on the runways, was described by some as an “orb” or “metallic sphere”.
Images of the mysterious object initially appeared online in June 2024 but resurfaced recently, causing renewed debate. Users on social media platform X labelled the object a “strange UAP/UFO”, with one person alleging that “security personnel approached, after which the object abruptly took off, displaying flight characteristics unlike any conventional aircraft”.
Other accounts speculated the object could be a drone or a balloon, though no definitive explanations have been offered. British ufologist Mark Christopher Lee compared the event to other historical cases, such as a 1957 incident in Australia where an alleged alien sphere was reportedly captured, maybe part of Immaculate Constellation!?
Manchester Airport has strongly refuted the UFO theories. A spokesperson stated that the images are believed to be doctored and that nothing captured in the footage points to genuine unaltered evidence of an unidentified object.
The spokesperson added, “We have systems that pick up anything that could be a threat to aviation. Anything that gives off a signal we would know about”.
He further stated that if such an object were present on the airport’s airfield, as shown in the images, it would be treated as a major incident. No such events have occurred, and normal operations have not been disrupted.
Despite the airport’s explanation, speculation has continued to thrive online. Some social media users claim the object showed flight capabilities far beyond known technology, while others argue it may have been an elaborate hoax or an advanced drone.
The resurfaced claims highlight how quickly unverified reports can spread online, especially when paired with eye-catching footage or images.
For now, the airport’s systems and the lack of corroborated evidence suggest no unusual events occurred. However, the incident underscores the ongoing public fascination with UFO sightings and how these stories can take on a life of their own in the digital age.
