Study Suggests Ghosts Die!

A new report from the world’s first Paranormal Rescue service, led by Brian Sterling-Vete, PhD, suggests that ghosts, even the most well known and historically prominent ones, may not linger in haunted locations forever. The study, named “Project Half-Life”, indicates that spirits appear to “fade” over time, possibly due to a loss of energy.
Sterling-Vete’s Paranormal Rescue service, based in both the UK and the United States, has been collecting and analysing data for over a decade to understand why some famous ghosts have stopped appearing. According to Sterling-Vete, “When all the data was considered, it was quite a shock to think that many of our once famous ghosts could be literally dying. It was apparent that famous ghosts in once-notably haunted locations were being seen increasingly less frequently, and some had not been seen in many years”.
The findings suggest that sentient ghosts may have a limited lifespan, much like living humans. The explanation hinges on the second law of thermodynamics, which states that energy tends to disperse and degrade over time. “In simple terms”, Sterling-Vete explains, “the second law of thermodynamics tells us that energy tends to disperse and degrade over time. I would argue that our findings show ghosts do conform to the second law of thermodynamics as they appear to run out of energy”.
Summarising his theory with a touch of humour, Sterling-Vete adds, “I’ve now become well-known in paranormal research circles for saying, ‘You Only Die Twice’ in homage to the James Bond movies I love”.
The findings from Project Half-Life and the many accounts others paint a complex picture of the afterlife. While Sterling-Vete’s research raises questions about whether ghosts have a natural “expiry date”, sightings of persistent spirits suggest that, for some, the energy may linger just a little longer. Whether ghosts do eventually “die” a second time or some simply defy this energy decay remains an open question in the realm of the paranormal.
