In January 2015, Steve Mera, founder of The Scientific Establishment of Parapsychology (SEP), met with paranormal investigator and psychic medium Don Philips, who claimed to have established contact with a spirit named "Becky". Becky, according to Philips, was a powerful and benevolent spirit who communicated with him through a handheld recorder. Philips also claimed that Becky followed him on various paranormal investigations, assisting him in his work.

Mera, a veteran investigator, approached the situation with the intention of debunking Philips' claims. However, during their initial meeting, Philips demonstrated his abilities, and to Mera's astonishment, Becky's voice was captured through the recorder. Mera had never encountered anyone like Philips, nor had he witnessed such a connection between a spirit and a person. This event marked the beginning of a series of investigations aimed at understanding the nature of Becky’s presence.

In an effort to determine the authenticity of Philips' claims, Mera invited him to participate in several investigations at well known paranormal hotspots. Each time, Becky reportedly made her presence known. On one occasion, during an investigation with Chris Andrews, another paranormal investigator, Becky is said to have communicated directly with him through a highly sensitive microphone. The experience left Andrews deeply shaken, and it further fuelled Mera's curiosity.

As the investigations continued, Mera became more intrigued by the seemingly extraordinary connection between Philips and Becky. However, despite the regularity of Becky's appearances, Mera began to harbour doubts about the true nature of the spirit.

Mera’s suspicions grew during a significant investigation at Lisheen House in Ireland, a location known for its intense paranormal activity. On this occasion, renowned paranormal researcher Barry Fitzgerald joined the investigation. During the investigation, Mera observed interactions with Becky that caused him concern. The once-benign spirit seemed to have a darker and more unsettling aspect, raising the possibility that Becky's intentions might not be as benevolent as Philips had believed.

Barry Fitzgerald got involved after talking to Steve about Don and Becky, listing all the things that Don could do. So Barry suggested to bring Don to Ireland with Barry setting up an investigation to test Don's abilities, with Barry being the only one who knew where they were going.

To much surprise, it turned out that Don was able to pick up on a Jinn that is reported to have been brought to Lisheen house by the former owner who was collector or Egyptian artifacts. Oddly enough Becky didn't show up once on site in Lisheen house, she wasn't present for some reason, wh or whatever Becky is, was it afraid of the Jinn reported to reside at Lisheen house?!

Mera himself experienced a profound and unsettling encounter with Becky during this investigation, which led him to question whether Philips had formed a partnership with a spirit out of goodwill, or whether something more malevolent was at play. “Who - or what - is this spirit who goes by the name of Becky?” Mera asked. “Has she really connected with Don out of good intentions, or is Don actually tethered to something evil?”

While Don Philips continues to believe in the positive nature of his relationship with Becky, Steve Mera's investigations suggest that there may be more to the spirit than initially meets the eye. The question of whether Philips is genuinely communicating with a benevolent spirit, or whether he has unknowingly forged a connection with a darker force, remains unanswered.

The case of Don Philips and Becky highlights the complexities of spirit communication and raises important questions about the true nature of the entities that mediums claim to contact. The investigations into this case are ongoing, but one thing is clear, the mystery of Becky is far from resolved.
