A former senior adviser to multiple U.S. presidents has made a surprising claim that has sparked widespread interest. Harald Malmgren, who served under Presidents John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Gerald Ford, revealed that he was briefed on "otherworld technologies" by a top CIA official more than 60 years ago.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) that has since gone viral, Malmgren recounted the extraordinary details of his experience. "Sixty-plus years ago, I was provided highest level classifications to lead DOD [Department of Defence] work on nuclear weapons and anti-missile defence", Malmgren wrote. "Informally briefed on ‘otherworld technologies’ by CIA’s Richard Bissell (who had been in charge of Skunkworks, Area 51, Los Alamos, etc.) but sworn to secrecy".
Malmgren's statements came in response to a discussion thread about "above top secret" security clearances. He further elaborated on his unique encounters during his time in government service, mentioning a conversation with rocket scientist Lawrence Preston Gise in 1963. Gise, who is also the grandfather of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, allegedly spoke to Malmgren about his work on reverse-engineering unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) objects.
This disclosure from Malmgren coincides with the recent publication of a book by Luis Elizondo, a former official who led the Pentagon's secret UFO programme. In his book, Elizondo asserts that the U.S. government is in possession of advanced technology that he believes originates from non-human intelligence. Elizondo's claims align with those of David Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence officer who became a whistleblower in June 2023. Grusch publicly alleged that the U.S. government had retrieved non-human craft and even recovered alien bodies.
Richard Bissell, the CIA official who allegedly briefed Malmgren, is a well-known figure in American history. Bissell was a key architect of the U-2 spy plane programme and played a significant role in the ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba in 1961. He resigned from the CIA the following year. According to Malmgren, the briefing on "otherworld technologies" took place off the record after Bissell had stepped down from his position.
In a follow-up post, Malmgren clarified his intentions in sharing these revelations, stating, "I am not seeking public confirmation status—just telling my personal story. Confirmations will be up to others directly involved, in coming months".
Malmgren's claims add to a growing body of public statements and whistleblower accounts that suggest the U.S. government may have had access to technology of non-human origin for decades. However, these allegations remain unverified, and it is unclear whether further evidence will emerge to support or refute them.
