Dog Walker Crosses Paths With a ’Black Eyed Child’ in Cannock Chase Woods, England

A dog walker has recounted a terrifying experience during a late evening stroll through Cannock Chase, where he was confronted by a 'pale-faced little girl' with 'completely black eyes'. The unnerving incident took place near Castle Ring, a well known location within the Staffordshire forest, approximately 3.2 kilometres from the village of Rugeley, England.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, was walking his dog around 10 p.m. one evening in late July. Although it was not yet completely dark, the sun had set, creating an eerie atmosphere in the woods. "We were walking through the woods, and all of a sudden I felt a weird sensation in my stomach, like a feeling of impending doom. And I also felt like I was being watched. My dog started to go mad and was pulling on the lead and barking. I've never known her get so frightened", he recalled.
As the man stopped to survey the area, he felt a sudden tug on the back of his coat, which startled him. He quickly turned around to discover the source of the sensation. "You're probably going to think I'm bonkers but it was this pale-faced little girl", he said. "The thing is she had completely black eyes and something about her just didn't seem right. Like she wasn't human, her clothes were in rags. She giggled in a way that hurt my ears and sent chills down my spine, and then she skipped off into the trees. I was terrified and so was the dog. We left straight away".
The incident bears a striking resemblance to previous reports of the infamous 'Black Eyed Child', a ghostly figure that has been sighted in Cannock Chase since the 1980s. The child is believed by some to be the spirit of a young girl who was tragically murdered in the area during the 1960s. Brickley, who described the fear in the man’s voice as "still palpable", stated that this encounter is particularly significant due to the physical interaction reported. "Most sightings of the Black Eyed Child describe visual and auditory experiences, but this is one of the rare cases where the entity physically touched someone.
